Beck followed up his Glastonbury slot with a couple of midweek shows. One in London and also one in Manchester which I was lucky enough to attend. A gig long on the bucket list of “must see” artists, the short trip down the M62 was time and money well spent. He rolled off the classics and mixed in some of the more chilled tracks from the Morning Phase album with considerable ease. His stage persona made awkward just look so cool. He talent undeniable with a catalogue of instant classics intermingled with song writing genius Beck had the crowd in his hand, something that really would have actually helped as the venue was incredibly over sold which lead to it being a very cramped and moist evening. This didn’t, however, spoil what was a great, great show.
