The Manic Street Preachers played to a nostalgic crowd at the Liverpool Echo Arena last night. The gig marked the twentieth anniversary of the their iconic, but not necessarily their best, album Everything Must Go, released in 1996. It was their first album since Richey Edwards had gone missing.
Editors performed as special guests and gave an impressive forty-five minute set with tracks including Racing Rats and Marching Orders. Clearly a very competent set of musicians I hope to see them in their own right. I did have a ticket to see them in 2005 but some football got in the way and I didn’t make it. Only took eleven years to put that right but hey it’s done and I NEED to see them again!
