The Trip returns, but not where you know it

The Trip to Italy

After two very successful and effortlessly funny series, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are taking their next trip but not with BBC2.  Yes, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, Sky have gobbled it up and it will be shown on their Sky Atlantic channel.

Michael Winterbottom will return to direct saying It has been more than three years since the last Trip, and travelling with Rob and Steve is always enjoyable – so it seemed like a good idea to go on another journey together – before they get too old.”

This time round the pair will be heading to Spain for their next onslaught of culinary delights and quick-fire banter and not forgetting their many Michael Caine Impressions.

This news, whilst it’s great that The Trip is returning, will come a something as a blow to some fans who may not have a digital television package which includes Sky Atlantic, myself included.  It also means one other key thing, adverts.  I hate them and for a show like The Trip this could really break the continuity of the show.
